Piikani Youth Work Experience Program 2007-2008

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Piikani Youth Initiative is a youth work experience program designed to provide:

- Opportunities for work experience

- Support development of employability skills

- Exposure to a variety of career options

- Promote continued education

COURSE CONTENT

Theory Sessions will provide:

- Career Exploration in a profession or trade

- Professional Development & Ethics

- Life Skills Development

- Job Search Strategies

- Assesssment tests to assist in Goal Setting

- Cultural Awareness

- Community Involvement

Work Experience Component:

- Designed to assist participants in making informed career choices

- Opportunity to put theory to practice

- Work Placement available on/off reserve
